In the late 1990s, Morrissey served as a prosecutor in Miami before returning to journalism in 2000. Her articles appear in numerous national publications, including TIME, People, ESPN the Magazine, CULTURED, and the ABA Journal.
Morrissey developed several exclusives. For People, she uncovered the last meal Anna Nicole Smith’s son ate and the drugs found in his Bahamian hospital room. In Aruba, while covering the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, she persuaded the former girlfriend of Holloway’s accused killer to talk about his past and share her love journal – weeks before the journal was featured on television. Her 9/11 coverage for TIME exposed the hijackers’ money trail. Additionally, Morrissey’s reporting led to the rescue of a man trapped beneath an earthquake-flattened building in Haiti and justice for three men falsely accused of rape while they vacationed in the Bahamas.
Today, Morrissey provides annual Art Basel coverage as well as in-depth reporting on anything from legal and foreign affairs to politics and sports (including the Olympics). Foreign coverage ranges from the islands to Central and South America, Europe and the Middle East.
